A brother stood up at graduation A blank look on his face You could tell he wanted to talk His heart began to race As he stood behind a podium He glanced out to the crowed "My little sister would have graduated today and I wouldve been so proud Sadly she can not be here Because you see she died" The brother looked down at his paper And quietly he sighed "My sister walked into a party And gladly took a beer She greeted her friends with many smiles She had nothing at all to fear After a long night of partying She walked out to her car No one tried to stop her She didn't live too far She put the keys in the ignition And began her journey home She took a left up on Walnut When she faintly heard her phone She looked around the car As she rounded a dangerous curve A deer caught in the headlights She pushed the wheel to swerve" He looked back to the graduates But no one made a sound As he glanced amongst the faces A dry eye could not be found "She was just a young 17 Getting in the car she didnt think She was barley old enough to drive Let alone to drink I miss everything about her She thought she was always right She smiled every single day And she never picked a fight Sometimes I hear her laugh Something I miss the most of all I would give anything just to see her Even if the timing was small I think I hear her car pull in Like it should have on that night I wish someone wouldve taken the keys At least put up a fight This song is in loving memory Of the sister I am proud of The girl that you all knew so well The one that everybody loved" He began to play the song Tears rolled down his cheek He wanted people to listen No words were left to speak He slipped off the stage Leaving "hero" playing strong The title saying all the rest Of his little sisters favorite song
