Meeting

by k i k i   Jan 5, 2006

Left without a goodbye,
I didn't think I could cope.
No chance to see a final smile,
Just a glimpse of pain.

Crying in agony,
Drugs wouldn't do anything.
Growing inside of you,
That terror that killed you.

Months of sleeping,
I hardly got to talk to you.
Too much energy was put in,
To make a full recovery.

I knew you wouldn't last.

Tubes feeding you oxygen,
Food and nutrients to keep you going.
Your heart became weaker,
My love for you growing stronger.

What was at first a total stranger?
I came to love your company.
Reading stories, I knew you were listening,
Fighting pirates on ships, your dream job.

Friendship that was short lived,
Memories will let me remember.
Ship sailing into distance,
You're out there on your boat.

Fishing at a new coast,
Heaven.
