Soldiers

We were the soldiers
And we marched together
In the dark
Until the enemy came along
And put a bullet in our spark

We were the team
You and me against the rest
We would always stand up proud
We always past the test

We’d march every where alone
It was just you and me
We’d over come everything
And let everyone see

But the day was soon to come
In my heart you shot
You left me there in the battlefield
You left me there to rot

So now I’m a soldier
A soldier who stands tall
A soldier who was once in love
A soldier who had to take a fall
