Knife to wrist, As Bee To Flower

by Becky   Jan 6, 2006

These scars on my wrist
i do not like to hide
but i hide them in spite
of your hurtful words

i know you don't like them
and that they scare you so
but they are a part of me
they are a part of my life

they do not scare me
no not any longer
they are as bees are to flowers
i need them to continue growing

i take this knife in my hand
and i feel the blood flow
i feel a gentle calm
it take me to that place

after this thing i do
i feel OK, i feel fine
but without it
I'm in disarray

i don't know what to do
i start to panic
i curl up in a ball
and i start to tremble

i know you don't understand
this does not change the way i am
i still continue to do it
and don't expect you to understand

please comment i would be very happy and will comment back

    Oh, Becky...

Please stop cutting. You know as well as I know that it's a horrible thing...I'm sorry that you do it. I know it's not your fault, but please, for the good things in life, look for help. You seem amazing, and I don't want to see you hurt from your response to hardship in life. Cutting is not the answer. Put down the razor, look at it, and throw it away. You don't need it. People love you. People need you. And you've got me here.

    I'm so sorry.
