Inner Child

by LoneWalker   Jan 6, 2006

To seek a desire
locked within my heart
I'll walk through the corridors
that make a maze
within my mind,
to find what I've been looking for
a small hand
to guide my blinded eyes
towards a happiness
I once felt long ago
My 'inner child'
I've once been told before
can guide me down this path
I know he ran,
as my spirit broke and left,
so did he
lost Through a dark hall he ran
I can follow
a trail a shadow left
from the pain that we felt
he ran to hide from the agony
memories locked behind each door
scenes I rather forget
but never will they go
the pains that made him run away
Tears, blood, fists and torment
locked deep in me
and yet still I'm haunted
the trail is long
and I near the last door
I know what I will find
In the longest corridor,
In the darkest corner,
Shadowed by gloom,
I open the door
To a Blackened room
There I find
end of my hope
swinging back and forth
from a nylon rope
Is my inner child...
the end of my hope
