Daddy is home

by Heather   Jan 6, 2006

Little boy on his shoulders ,
Little girl at each side and another boy holding to his leg for dear life.

He said he had to go to work,
the children cried in protest but slowly peeled off.
He promised to be home early,
He told them it was daddy's day.

By dinner time daddy still not home,
the kids watched the door with worried eyes.
A quarter past 8,
no daddy in sight.

Little after midnight daddy came home,
slowly crept upstairs to find his kids wide awake.
he hugged them each close,
and kissed thier checks.

The littles smile and said daddy come home,
the oldest still worried what went wrong.
Daddy smiled at his children,
daddy is home.
