Confessions of a Vampiress, Pt III

by *rêve_cassé*   Jan 7, 2006

*i'm leaning more to prose lately, so pardon the lack of rhythm and rhyme!*

snowflakes drift
down to the ground. . .
i lean my forehead
against the cold window glass
looking down into the white courtyard.

i see you standing
cloaked in black,
a shadow against the white.
your steps falter, your eyes
turn to the sky,
and meet mine on the way.

afraid of your gaze,
i move quickly away, and
hide behind the drapes.
hands grasp on,
wrenching out hearts,
and i fight the urge to scream.

night comes slowly,
a black mist that deepens
beneath a starless sky
as black as your heart.
and your hands like ice
chafe against my shoulders
as you claim my soul for hell.

behind the torment,
behind the despair,
lies a feeling remaining dormant.
not hate, not terror,
but passion and attraction,
as if you manipulate my mind.
eyes of black, hair of raven,
draw me nearer to night,
when i can see you laugh.

when i can see you laugh,
i see a smile long-lost
in your eyes, a spark of
life and hope, that
i'll never. . .see. . .again.
