What Do You Do?

What do you do when you best friend gets a beating almost every night from the one person whs suppose to love him more then anyone?
He doesnt know why he tells you about it, but he does.
You try and help by being there.
He asks you not to tell and if you do,
Hell hate you.

Its going way to far, it keeps getting worse,
You want to help him and you try to do what you can,
But you cant do much, because your only a 16 year old girl and his dads a 47 year old man.
You want it all to stop more then anything in the world, but how?

Ya theres websites and teen help lines,
But in a small town like ours,
News seems to travel fast.
People would look at your friend
And think differently of him.
Who knows, maybe his *friends* will to and never talk to him again.
What would that do to him?
Hed have no one,
Not even you because you thought by telling someone it would help,
But did it really or did it just make things worse?

You ask him to move in with you to stop the pain,
He says itd be to obvious and people would start saying sh*t.
You say you dont care what they say,
As long as hes safe and ok.
He says he cant but wishes he could.
Do you believe him?
Of cores you would.

But theres really nothing left that you can do,
So you tell him you love him and youll always be true,
That your doors always open,
No matter what.
Your parents love him,
And wouldnt mind.
Theyd sick up for him,
Theyd want to make his life fair.
