One big lie

by Desperation   Jan 7, 2006

Walking into school
With her pretty lil head held up high
Looking like she hasnt got a care in the world.
She wonders if they can see through her lies
but her classmates just pass her by.

People say hi and chit-chat with her
Thinking they must know this girl completely
But they don't see the pain shes hides.

She's worn this mask for so long
She laughs and smiles
They think they understand
They think they know
But she feels as though she doesn't belong.

She doesn't know who she is
She knows shes fake
She knows she hides

She wants to scream and yell at the top of her lungs
She tries so hard to open up
Every time she gets close a friend shuts her out
leaving her alone and feeling unworthy.

This poor girl doesn't even trust herself anymore
Thinking she's the one that causes the pain
Her friends don't see it
If you want to call them friends anymore.

Her family believes she's the perfect child
Her teachers think shes wonderful
Her friends think shes a blast
But she thinks shes not even worth their time
She just seems to want to die.

She gets so close to doing it
But says to herself 'it'll hurt to many people'
She pleases everyone but herself
Never recieving anything in return.

They took her heart
Her body
and her soul
leaving her out in the cold.

She cries herself to sleep
Wishing someone would relieve her pain
If only someone would care enough to find her soul
She'd understand she wasn't left alone.

The loving, caring, beautiful girl that she was
Slowly blows away in the wind
Her deep mysterious brown eyes lose their shine and turn cold.

Her wonderful body
gets torn apart
letting herself waste away
slowly losing her muscle
and the very lil fat she had
soon theres nothing left but skin and bones.

Her gorgeous singing voices
loses its luster
it fades into a quiet whisper
that vanishes to nothing but a low mumble.

She trusts no one not even herself
She lays awake at night
Thinking about her life
she thinks'What's so bad about it?'
Its her past and present that rips her apart.

They say forget the past
You can't change it
They say the present will soon be the past
Let it fade
What if shes too scared to face the future?
Because all she seems to know is the pain that will soon come with it.

Then the night fades
The morning sun rises
It's another day
And this is what she does.

Walk into school
With her pretty lil head held up high
Looking like she hasnt got a care in the world.
