You called me "Bubba" every time you saw me, I wondered why you said that, I figured you couldn't see

I answered to it anyway because your love was so strong, and when the Lord took you away, I felt he was doing me so wrong

I had dreams of you walking up to heaven's pearly gates, in a baby blue suit looking so great

Of course the Lord let you in and gave you a pair of wings, a pair of wings he felt like were fit for a king

And a king you are forever in my heart, I know you will forever be with me, through the bright times and the dark

I use to look back at all the times you had missed,big wins, game winning shots, and all-star awards I use to not get

Then something told me you were there the whole time, that's why I got that award and the shot went in instead of bouncing off the side

I'm becoming a man now and will soon be out on my own, I know you are sitting and thinking "oh look how he's grown"
