Letter To A Drug Addict

by TinyDancer46   Jan 8, 2006

I'm not writing to yell at you
There's just something I must know
I'm writing to ask you why you made
My mom and daddy go

I know you took some heroine
And you weren't thinking straight
So you grabbed a gun and left the house
When it was getting late...

But why'd you pick my daddy
When you pulled out that black gun
And why'd you kill my mommy
When she screamed at what you'd done

I'm writing to ask what's on your mind
As you read this tearstained letter
I thought you wouldn't do that
I thought that you knew better

But the worst part of you is the fact
That you and me are both the same
For you were me when I took drugs
And now I'm the one to blame

    Your imagery was quite nice.
And the flow went very well.
I enjoy your writing. Keep up the great work. And the message your poetry shows.
