Sheltered light

by John Leddy   Jan 8, 2006

A light of innocence shone bright once
within my caring soul
but the light was tainted by the dark
and the darkness left a hole

but i allowed the darkness to burrow
i did it willingly
for i went in search for the knowledge
of the pain that surrounded me

the darkness dug so deep
and the digging wasn't tough
i try to drain the darkness out
but i just can't cry enough

for two souls once joined are separated
another soul deeply torn
one soul controls the things i do
my soul asks why i was born
