We're Through

~!~! Not really sure where this poem would belong so sorry if it should be somewhere else !~!~

I used to be in love with you
But now that love is forever gone
Tears constantly run down my face
And it’s you I lay the blame on

At first I loved you with all I had
But soon that love turned into hate
Now you keep telling me you’re sorry
But you don’t realize its way too late

You took everything that I had left
When I allowed you into my heart
And with every lie and hurtful word
You completely tore my life apart

You never stopped for a second
To see that you were hurting me
All you cared about was yourself
And sadly, that’s how it will always be

Sometimes I just don’t understand
How you can just constantly lie
Or why you always put me down
Only to see if it will make me cry

But now you have just gone too far
And I’m not allowing you to do it anymore
So this is the end of what you call a “relationship”
It’s time I closed my heart’s door

So I’m picking up the last part of me
And I’m doing what I know I should do
Saying goodbye to all we used to know
And gladly saying that we’re through
