What can ever hurt us more
than seeing those we love most suffer
For this pain so deep inside
It seems there is no buffer

What can make you feel worse,
than being unable to ease
The pain you see, deep in their eyes
Please god, help her, please.

How you wish to protect,
so they don't suffer more.
And you realize you're a failure,
when their pain comes to the fore.

The tears that run down your cheeks,
but echoes of their pain
And as you see the hurt they feel,
your heart can but scream in vain.
