Tommy and Johnny

by Bradley Peter   Jan 11, 2006

*please read my poems 'Little Tommy' and 'Knock, knock Johnny' to help you understand this story*

so you've heard of little Tommy, and little Johnny too
while Tommy's having laughs, Johnny's feeling blue
but they're actually best friends, but not treated quite the same
Tommy shares the love, while Johnny hides his shame
you see, Johnny's very cool, in the public eye
but behind closed door, his uncle makes him cry
Johnny puts on a front, but Tommy's smiles are real
for each and every night, he doesn't live Johnny's ordeal
Tommy's life is filled, with fun and chocolate cake
Johnny's life is too, only Johnny's fun is fake
but Johnny will never tell Tommy, of the secret life he leads
of the torment he suffers, from his uncle's dirty deeds
its not that he doesn't trust him, or that Tommy wouldn't care
its that poor little Johnny, doesn't have the courage to share
Tommy has not a clue, thinks Johnny's perfectly good
he thinks Johnny's having fun, and at six he really should
because that's what Tommy does, he does it all day long
Tommy's a little angel, he never puts a foot wrong
but then, neither does Johnny, but yet he still wipes his tears
while Tommy dreams and hopes, Johnny fighting his fears
what will they become, twenty years from now
will Johnny ever pull through, and if he does I wonder how
or will their friendship be destroyed, will they break apart
their futures in opposite directions, thanks to a different start
will Tommy become a lawyer, a doctor or fly a plane
while Johnny's in an asylum, the boy who went insane
will Tommy hold all the cards, will he live the life of fame
starring in big shot movies, with everyone knowing his name
will Johnny become a murder, or an addict stuck on crack
filled with so much anger, wanting to hurt his uncle back
none of this is known, but one thing is certain for sure
because of Johnny's uncle, Johnny feels he isn't pure
thinks Tommy's better than him, he thinks himself as scum
if things continue like this, Johnny will grow to be a bum
but what will happen to the two, only time will tell
of Johnny the little angel, who's sadly stuck in hell
