College Boy In the Library

by Burning Silent   Jan 11, 2006

A pencil droops in one strong hand
The other clenches tight.
His head keeps drooping more and more
Though he tries with all his might.

He won't allow his baby blues
To fall under its spell
The book that sits in front of him
He hates - you can tell.

His specs slip slightly down his nose
To them he pays no heed
The marker cap he twists and turns
He's trying hard to read.

He screws his face into a frown
He knows not how he looks
I think he looks quite like a child
Who's reading "big kid" books.
