Winter

by John Bowlby   Jan 12, 2006

I look outside,
For the snow,
Eyes open wide,
Where'd it go?

There's a flake,
From the sky,
"For goodness sake!"
To mom I cry.

"It's snowing, it's snowing!
Can I go play?"
"Bundle up, wind's blowing!"
Said mom today.

I run out the door,
Bundled up warm,
Caring no more,
In the snowstorm.

I lie down,
Making an angel,
Looking at the town,
Oh so peaceful.

Everything still,
Snow falls gently,
On every windowsill,
I watch it intently.

Time to come in,
Mother is calling,
I come with a grin,
Snow keeps falling.

I take off my attire,
Getting warm,
Sitting by the fire,
Out of the storm

Sitting by the blaze,
Mom brings hot chocolate,
These are the days,
I'll never forget.
