Lover's Lane

by Whitney   Jan 12, 2006

We took our daily midnight stroll
Right down the lake of lovers lane
Where the lovely lady of death took you from my grasp
You tried to fight back but they held you firm and tight

I tried to run after my love but the ladies hand held me back
She whispered softly in my ear
"This is the ride of life everyone must t'ake. I am sorry for your loss"
I then replied "goodbye, I love you" just so my love could hear

I cried of loss and pain by the lake on lovers lane
I knew in one quick moment my angel of fear had appeared
But my dear angel of love had washed him away
So I could peacefully drown my sorrows in our lake of love

Now I take that midnight stroll all alone
Right down the lake of lovers lane
Waiting and waiting to fill your warm hand upon my breast
As you feel my heart beat slower and slower

Till at last the lady of death takes me away and puts me in your arms of love
