If He Knew

by Amanda Sloan   Jan 12, 2006

If he knew the sun rose when he walked into the room
If he knew my thoughts went to oblivion with a glance of his smile
If he knew that my brain forgets to breathe when he touches my face
If he knew the moments of his absence were my agony
and the light that shone was his presence
If he knew I wanted to soak up his entirety all so he could amaze me more
He would know where he belonged
He would know where he wanted to be
He would stop looking for someone
someone like me
And even as I try, I'll position myself hidden behind his silhouette
waiting watching the tick of the second hand until the time if it may. And when he walks past me he i will have swallowed this ball of worry and pocket him for myself
