This Sorrowed World

by Sarah Ann   Jan 12, 2006

I look around myself and think
Then everything turns dark
I clench my fists and open up
A hole so big inside my heart

I walk around with a big smile
And I wave at all as I pass by
But then the pain engulfs my soul
And I cry and wonder why

I hear all the words people say
And I lecture them with every breath
Yet suddenly I feel a hardened pain
And I become remotely deaf

I smell the beautiful flowers
and bend to lift one off the ground
But swiftly my hand turns bloody red
And the pain fills all around

I try to run away from it
But a force just pulls me back
There is no room for such good things
In this sorrowed world thats black.
