You keep me going

Crying in the darkness,
Seeking for the light.
Looking for the day,
Ignoring all the night.

Hoping to find the one,
Wishing that it's you.
Praying you'd appear,
Knowing it won't come true.

I could be so much more to you,
But it's hard for me to care.
When all i do is regret,
The things I've had to bare.

Please forgive me,
Because i can't forgive myself.
For all the things I've let happen,
Wishing i was someone else.

Knowing what i should have known then,
This is just another lesson learned.
And somehow,
I got what i deserved.

I let them all get to me,
Now i can't come to face.
Where i belong in this world,
And what is my hearts place.

No one really understands,
But i hope to make you see,
That just because it's hard to love,
I'm glad you're here with me.

I should have been smarter,
So I'll set my past aside.
You're the one that keeps me going,
And makes me happy I'm still alive.
