Developing Thorns -Part 2-

Behind each thorn laid a story
Of the constant hurt in my life
Heartbreak; Abuse; Pain & Suffering
Only strong on the outside

Behind my thorn is another story
Of someone who wanted to be something in life
Ended up losing everything
Betrayed by the very people she trusted

Behind another thorn
A story of grieving & loss
Hiding behind my tough exterior
Weak beneath my hard skin

Each thorn saying stories
Of different tastes and categories
All bundled in a rose
That yet stays strong

People look upon the rose
As the perfect flower; Flawless
Digging beneath the surface shows
Things aren't always what they appear

Now I tell them to look deeper
To look into the thorn
Maybe next time you pick a rose
Youâ??ll think twice before you pick it up

A rose tells a special story
As does each petal & thorn
Behind it's perfect outside
Lies a story untold
