Mother's Day has finally come,
So I wrote this poem for my Mom.
I wrote this poem because I love her so,
And that's all I've ever wanted her to know.
I know sometimes I shout and scream,
But when you smile, I beam.
And I know we sometimes argue
And I sometimes blow my lid.
But I still love you very much,
I'm only just a kid.
People always say your kids grow up right before your eyes,
But I thought for my mom, she'd have to realize,
She, never had her eyes open,
Then when I came home from school, and you were gone,
I realized, I'm the one who needs to open my eyes.
You were always there for me.
You always believed.
Before I was ever myself, you made me, me.
So mom, I want you to know
I loved you once,
I love you still.
I love you now,
And I always will.
*I wrote this poem for my mom on Mother's Day in 2005 and won an award for it... so I hope you like it*
