In the depths of my soul
There is a yearning for me
To mean something to someone.
I want to love and be loved.
I want a relationship
That has meaning.
I want something long-term,
Not just a fling.
I want to develop a passion
With the person
Who is committed to me,
Who is someone
I can be committed to.
Although this is a hard, long search,
I am willing to give
As much time and patience as needed,
And I am willing to risk
A million broken hearts
In my search for the one
Who will hold it and care for it.
