Take it away - or not!

I used to wish that i could take it all away,
forget the past and love to see another day,
but then i started to think, if i hadn't seen what i had seen,
this life that i live now, wouldn't be me.
i wouldn't have my mates, who know about my past,
i wouldn't have the determination to get away fast.
i would never know what it is like for people like me,
i can imagine how stuck up i would be
it is then that i thank god for all the things that i have done
because if nothing had happened then i wouldn't know what its like to have fun!
