Religion

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 15, 2006

Religion is quite a paradox
Aiming for the orthodox
Unity in diversities
Knowledge of universities

At Religion's dawn humans were born
From Neanderthals we were torn
Doubt is dead faith is alive
Time will tell who will survive

To every animal given a name
Man sins to his inherited shame
Seeks an entity to cast the blame,
Following paths that are not the same

If it were the reflection of all good deeds
Religion would fill all of our heavenly needs
Love is a choice. Hope lies not in division
Chaos is random, and not a wise decision

Wow... this is an incredible poem! The rhyming pattern never got choppy and it stayed really smooth, and the way you used your words were brilliant. Great writing once again, keep up the amazing work!

The Last stanza has remain in my mind with much visionary passion. I love your ability to adapt into different styles of writing you handle it so gracefully.

You have a very strong rhyme scheme in this poem, and it worked really well. The only real problem is for me the last stanza did not keep in with the flow of the rest of the poem. I felt my first hesitation reading the first line of the last stanza. The first stanza is my favourite, not sure why, it just stuck in my mind. Well done, keep it up.

Thanks for the comment you left on my poem "Musings of you." I have sent you a message thanking you in more detail, I hope you don't mind.
