Looking Back

I keep seeing the past year in my head
I saw each time I wished I were dead

I saw each time I thought I found true love
I saw every thing I've been dreaming of

I saw every tear that I had cried
I saw every time that I had lied

I saw every person that I had met
All the memories I had kept

This entire year I had wished
But every wish just got squished

I wished all the bad things weren't true
I wished that just one more time I could see you

I wished I could go back to every good day
Cause all they did was replay and replay

As I look back and the year ends
I realize there's new opportunities around the bend

It's the end of 2005
Now 2006 can just thrive

Even if it's over I treasure the best
Because it's better than all the rest

I'll forget every tragedy
I finally moved on from looking back at me
