"the solider"

by Marina   Jan 6, 2004

The world
it spins
it shakes ad turns
falling falling
slowly faster
the solider falls without a sound
just another body on the ground
he lays and wonders what comes next
praying the shooting would stop and the torture ould end
his eyes close
and the world starts to spin
people are yelling
and children are cryng
he opens his eyes
and takes off the mask
seeing the world with new eyes
bodies litter the ground
legs, arms, limbs
a single tear escapes his eye
he cries for the solider who won't see another day
for those who weren't given a choice
for those wives and children at home
and for those who will never be found
he wipes away a tear and smies
not for the los and the dying of friends
but for the bravery of everyone of these boys who will leave the world as men
