Fools We Are

I say something.
You say another thing.
I yell at you.
You laugh back.
I get angerer.
You just grin.
I feel tears fall.
You try to wipe them away.
I step back.
You step forward.
I try to walk away.
You stop me.
I glare at you
With all the hate I have.
And you smile back
With the care of a fool.
I go to slap you.
You let me.
I glare at you.
You still smile back.
I turn to run.
You hold me still.
I hit your chest.
You keep me close.
I want to scream.
You kiss me.

I wanted to run.
But you held on.
I wanted you gone.
But you wanted me.
I cried.
You smiled.

I said you were a fool.
You agreed,
Saying you were a fool
Cause of me.
I said I hated you.
You said you loved me.

I was a fool.
You were a fool too.
We both are fools
In love with each other
And in love with our dreams.
