Enola

by lisa marie   Jan 17, 2006

I know a girl
whose body is so old
though it strives to keep growing
I can see the pain from many years
when I feel the cold in her hands
and her soul is so sorrowful
that it bleeds within my eyes
I can smell the melancholy
on her breath
and when I look her in the eyes
I see the ripples of deep oceans
and I wonder why she is beautiful
and shines as if she has aged
thousands of years ago.
With a smile hiding
behind unknown words
She confides
in the palms of her hands.
And I know that her soul
Will always live on.
As she inhales in slow motion,
the world continues to walk away.
Because
In reality,
she is dead to the world.
She is alone.
