Prisoner

by Liberty Caden   Jan 18, 2006

In you jail cell, you sit still.
Wondering "Why!"
All the years for one mistake.
Your shadow now dormant. Still.
The sun turns to black,
While stars float along a black river.
A blister of moonlight,
Shines through four steel bars.
A voice comes into clear.
"Open cell 246!"
A entangled vine of failure,
Falls from the ceiling.
The time has come.
You took your life.
You couldn't handle what you had done.
You didn't think it would be this way.
In the end.
He who lives, regrets.
And regret kills us all.
