50.Turn Off the Light

by Katie   Jan 19, 2006

Turn off the light
So I can no longer see
The face that hurt me

I close my eyes
The face appears
As if it never left

I open my eyes
And the face is gone
I tilt my head back

*Sigh*
A single tear falls
And my legs collapse

When the tear drops
I do too
And hit the floor hard

A friend hears the thud
Opens the door to find
Me unconscious on the floor

He holds me close
I jolt awake
The faced appeared again

I scream and scream
As I cry he holds my head to his chest
I weep as a baby does in his arms

I know he cares but again
Again collapse in his arms
unconscious

He lays me on the couch
And turns on the light
I awake and sigh

He's gone
It was a dream
But I'm free
