Unicorn Tears

by deadnalone   Jan 19, 2006

I look in the mirror to check my reflection,
To see I'm still me in my mask of protection,
I see my face and my body the same,
But look to myself in a vision of shame,
I hold my arms tight to keep me from breaking,
My chest heaves and i shudder with each break I'm taking,
Tears in my eyes, Unicorn Tears,
A ghostly affection that had lasted for years...

Ghostly tears brimming in the corner of my eye,
I sob and i shake but the tears i wont cry.
I have to hide it all away from your vision,
Get out of your sight for your eyes make incisions,
Into my skin, bleed black and white,
Trouble i give till you put up a fight.
Even then you sit and you laugh,
Hour on hour till you finish your craft,
Close with an insult, now cascade the tears,
I close my palm and I'm back in the mirror.

Staring at her shattered reflection,
Low self esteem i forgot to mention,
A broken soul stood in the crowd,
Stolen the laughter she once laughed out loud,
She holds herself tightly as she sobs with the tears,
A Frightened reflection, scarred from her peers.

A rose may have thorns but if you just try..
..you might start to notice the beauty inside..

All leeliekins i love it, especially the bit about the rose and don't let them get to you. I know it's difficult but it's what they want, don't give in to them. You've gotta try n be strong, we're all here for you.
