KYRIE ELEISON(Hear My Plea, Oh, Love Set Me Free)

by Gary Jurechka   Jan 19, 2006

Oh, I pray, please give me the power
in this, my most desperate, despondent,
bleakest, blackest hour,
to sail the sky, to kiss a flower,
to overcome what is driving me insane,
to rip out and obliterate this heart's pain,
to blow away the memories
until nothing else remains,
to begin my life fresh and anew,
to be free of this haunting love,
to eradicate every last trace of you.

May 28, 1995/Jan. 19, 2006

(Note:As I'm not Catholic, I hope I have used the title in the correct context-It is my understanding that Kyrie Eleison is latin for 'Oh, Lord, have mercy').

You are really good at verse. i'd like to tell you that somehow reading this makes it seem that there's a lot more you want to / could say. it builds up so beautifully and ends too soon!

just my view, pardon me if you think i am wrong.

your poems are also proving to be an enlightening read for me. thanks.
