Torture

by Poetvoices   Jan 19, 2006

I sit and stare at you for over an hour.
I see you smiling back at me.
Is it because you like me too,
or, on the inside, are you laughing at me?

It seems I'll be quiet and grin forever
unless you make a move.
You can bet that I won't.
I have nothing to prove.

Especially now that you know how it is.
You seem to know how I feel.
I've never even been THIS brave before.
I still can't believe it's real.

I'll just torture myself thinking of you
a little more every day.
Or maybe I'll wake from this dream
before you drift away.
