Voices in the snow

by Shelby Bridges   Jan 19, 2006

I hear voices in the distance
as the snow begins to fall
Sounds of joyful laughter
like in my youth I recall
The foot prints begin to appear
from the directions of so many
As the sounds are getting louder
from the voices of the plenty

I look around at the trees
that are covered with the snow
The flakes are blowing swiftly
as the wind begins to blow
There is a image of a man
who is round and a little tall
With a pipe in is mouth
and a hat that's a little small

I think about all the times
as I slowly look around
The joys of my youth
and the peace I have found
Most of all I remember
all the laughter that use to grow
Because as long as there's a winter
There will be voices in the snow

Your poets heart unfurls itself willingly and lends its words to us to float and drift among our own words. Good work, I enjoyed your poem and look forward to more.
