The light

There are different types of joy
From playing with a child filled with laughter
To reading a bed time story
That ends in a happy ever after

You are exposed in the light
No longer scared of the dark
As you walk down the street
You pet a dog and hear its joyous bark

You have a great family
And a lot of best friends
That smile, hug, and laugh with you
And are accountable until the end

You stare at the light
And to God you pray
That he has given you the chance
To see such a wonderful day

You love with all your might
Just to feel the special glow
That fills your heart
And through your actions you show

You show to people you care
And you will help take away the pain
Of the struggle between light and dark
Hope is what you wish to gain

Yet the struggle is so long and hard
Some will lose their mind
But if you hold strong through it
Then the light you will find
