Let it show

I turn over & see your eyes...

Sometimes they sparkle for a moment.
My gaze meets yours for a second, maybe two. Then you look away fast,
but I catch it, and it rests my heart

I turn over & our hands touch...

Sometimes it rests on mine, for a wonderful moment.
Then you'll start up a conversation. I wanted to hold that moment, but instead I have to piece together these tiny fragments, and get some idea of how you're feeling.

I turned over, & you said "I love you."...

I know you say you do,
but you don't let it show so much.
Words are nothing, without actions to prove them.
Your eyes said a million "I love you's" in that one little glance.
Are you afraid? There's no need to be baby. I'll try my hardest never to hurt you.

I turned over & our lips met....

I kissed you as we gazed again for a short moment, then you closed your eyes, and I watched you, and stared at you for hours.
I was afraid to fall asleep in case you were gone when I awoke.
