Heaven Bound

by Hilary   Jan 21, 2006

I could feel the angels flutter
As the tears fell from my eyes
And when I'd soften my wailing
I could almost hear the angels cry
They knew of my pain and suffering
The fear deep inside my heart
The agony I've had to overcome
Since my sweet babes depart
The days living behind the mask
Just to toss and turn all night
Feeling engulfed in the darkness
Constantly searching for the light
Awaking to his tiny cries
And jumping to his aid
Remembering he's a figment of the past
A mother's hope fades
Their wings just hold me tighter
As my weakened body hits the ground
Thinking of my little one
Unknowingly Heaven-bound
I have to let my angel's soul go
To fly in the skies above
Letting myself mourn forever
Won't make him feel more loved
With God's devotion surrounding me
I whispered my sorrowful goodbye...
The angels wiped their tears away
When I let their new friend fly.
