Mask

by Phoebe   Jan 21, 2006

Behind the veil of fake smiles and laughter
Behind the mask of beauty,
Underneath the shadow of happiness
Lies the girl which is me.

The girl with the hazel eyes that drop
Those tears of pain and dread,
The girl with the scars of love and hurt
Tell of times of the living dead.

Her pale skin decorated with memories,
Her fragile heart drowning in hate
Her cheeks adorned with tears,
Knowing that now its too late.

Looking in the mirror
Which one of us do you love?
The broken one with the smile that's fake
Or the one who comes from above?

Until you tell me the answer
I'll be hiding here in my shell,
The broken girl is invisible
In the mask is where I dwell.

Sorry for the crapness, couldn't
think what to write. xx
