All the same

I don't understand life
and the things we do each day
why we're afraid to be ourselves
and care so much about what people say .
Why we change the beauty in us
to be like everyone around
Maybe we're just searching
lost souls looking to be found.
Why do we care the most
about the shoes and clothes we wear
and for the things with all the meaning
we never seem to care
Why do we compare ourselves to others
and never appreciate what we bear
be the first to listen to negativity
and difference is our biggest fear.
Our faults are our beauty
and its what makes us unique
everyone wants to be different
but its all the same thing we seek.
We're all blinded by a mask
of what society wants today
so we give up the things that make us ourselves
and all try to be the same way.
