The Old You

by Samantha   Jan 22, 2006

You Told Me You Cared
You Told Me You Loved Me
But In The End You Were Just A Foney
You Said You Would Never Lie
You Said You Would Never Cheat
But I Guess I'm Beat
You Met Another Girl
You Met Someone Better Than Me
The Only Reason You Treated Me This Way
Was Because You Thought I Would Crawl Back To You Some Day

I Remember The Memory's We Had
But Now All Of That Is In The Past

You Left Me At The Perfect Time
It Was Right After You Committed A Crime
You Stole My Heart
And Tore It Apart
So Now When I Hear Your Name I cry
Because The Whole Time I Thought You Were Mine
So Now When You Walk By
And See A Little Tear In My Eye
Don't Be Surprised

What Happened To The Old You?
It's Like Your Personality Got Up And Walked Away

When You Were A Kid
You Told Me To Make Sure You Didn't Turn Out This Way
But I Got There A Little To Late
The Transformation Was Complete
Nobody Could Stop You Now
I Tried To Put You On Track
But You Said Nothing Was Wrong And That's A Fact

You Should Have Stepped Up
Instead Of Telling People To Shut Up
You Ended Up In The Wrong Crowd
And All That Did Was Make Your Family And Friends Frown
It Got Worse As The Days Went On
You Started Hurting People More And More

I Stopped Talking To You
Hoping That The Pain Would Go Away
But A Year Later I Got A Phone Call
Saying You Were In A Horrible Accident

Your Life Was Going Bad
So You Turned To Alcohol Because Thats All You Had
So You Got Into Your Car
Forgetting You Just Got Drunk At The Bar
You Were So Mad That You Seemed Like You Were On A Hunt
And As You Drove Away You Lit That Disgusting Blunt

You Got To A Street To A Sign That Said Something In Medal
But Then You Hit That Kid
Because Your Foot Didn't Get To The Petal
You Were A Second To Late
That Poor Kid Was Only Aloud Out Until Eight

You Ruined That Whole Kids Life
He Wanted To Grow Up And Have A Wife
All Because Your Life Was Going Bad
Didn't Mean You Could Destroy Every Dream He Had

The Parents Were Crying
And Then You Started Lying
You Said He Jumped In Front Of The Car
But You Didn't Remember Since You Had Gotten Drunk At The Bar
The Police Took Him Down To The Station
And You Started Getting Very Impatient
He Finally Let The Truth Come Out
As He Started To Shout:::

My Life Was Going Bad
So I Ruined What He Had
Throw Me In Jail
And Make Sure Nobody Pays My Bail
Now I Have The Death Penalty In Prison
But Tell Everyone That It Was My Decision
Tell My Friends I Said Bye
Tell My Family Not To Cry
Because I Deserve To Die
And With My One Last Breathe
Tell My Girl Friend I Love Her
This Whole Thing Is A Blur
All Because Of My Anger
So Heres Where It Ends
I'm Going To Be Gone Forever
Because I Wasn't Very Clever
So Good-Bye For Good....

This is one of my deepest poems I have ever written...Hope You Like It
