A Road So Often Traveled.

by Steven Beesley   Jan 22, 2006

A Road So Often Traveled:

There is a road often traveled
by each one and everyone of us.
Life's many lessons,
an old movie repeated again and again.

But all of us do not yet realize,
we are making repetitions
from ripples of long long ago!
Already be tried since the beginning.

We are blind to the ditches in the road.
Oblivious by our own selfishness.
So many bruises collected from
our inflated egos that never seem to go.

So much could be gained if we shared
with each other on our long perilous journey,
if we just walk hand in hand along the long road together.
Share all our thoughts and experiences, avoiding our falls.

Help one another along,
avoid the pitfalls awaiting
for all of us along the well
worn pathway, instead of stumbling.

So true! If we could just learn by others mistakes. Sadly we have to make the mistake ourselves to learn effectively.

Just one thing... 1st stanza, 2nd line:
"by each and everyone of us."
I think you missed the word "one"?

Great writing Steve, always such a pleasure to read your work.

The truth, beautifully written. If only we learned from the mistakes of others, from lessons past. What a wonderful poem my friend.
