They say friends are forever
They say friends just don't part
They say friends don't sever
But I knew it from the start.

We started to grow older
We started not to talk
Our friendship grew colder
And all you'd do was walk.

Ignoring then came
Soon the insults flew
Who's to blame?
But I found someone new.

Last year it happened again
But not so hurtful this time
I knew it would begin
I just had to give it time

For the feelings only held me down
Thinking you'd be there
I didn't frown
It just wasn't fair.
