A Little Girl*

I know a little girl,
whos so scared of the world,
scared of the wars,
and all the fights.
She hides her pain,
and teary eyes,
beneath a wonderful smile,
and never lets anyone in.
Shes scared to die,
but even more scared to live,
she feels all alone,
and like nothing is right.
Shes been lied to,
and cheated on,
and been stabbed in the back,
yet she never does it back.
She's always hurt,
or always teased,
and cries herself,
to sleep at night.
I know this little girl,
very well for you see,
the little girl,
is me.
