Dragon Breath

by Bill Turner   Jan 23, 2006

Red sky rising beyond the hill
Fire and smoke burning like hell
Wind whipped up threatening to kill
As the dragons breath casts its spell

Villagers living in the shadow of death
Fire and flames scorching the wagon
Whisper of the magical breath
Under the spell of the dragon

Sleep by the light of day
Torment under the cover of night
Wishing they could slay
The creature causing the fright

One man had no fear
Watching from his back
As the dragon flew near
As the sky turned black

Slowly developing in his mind
The thing that he must do
People laughed as he was blind
Some day the terror would be through

Lying there with his bow
Seeing with his heart
Shooting as the dragon flew low
Giving the people a new start

Falling to the earth in flame
Crashing to his death
Using the sight within his brain
Erasing the dragon breath
