Misunderstood

by Lauren Waszkiewicz   Jan 23, 2006

You can hear his headphones blaring
beneath his over-sized hood
you all think he doesn't care
but hes just misunderstood

the cuts on his wrists what make him come
but he has a good reason why
his home life's a disturbing mess
and he wishes to not be alive

his father left when he was three
he was a sick and twisted man
but he comes around once in awhile
and hurts as much as he can

the teachers thinks hes just trouble
and i think that you do to
but nothing that's happened in your life
compares to what he goes through

suicide is not an option
cause that would leave his mom alone
and his so-called father would beat her
and her pain would be unknown

what you don't seem to realize
is that this is his form of relief
he needs to focus his anger
and must control his grief

you think you know what he is like
but you don't have a clue!
he is so more complicated
than others who visit you

you think you've made a breakthrough
when the music stops
you wonder if he just might talk
until you see the clock

he stands up from his chair
and takes off his over-sized hood
he then says in a distant voice
"understanding does no good"

Wow this is amazing.. I just loved it.. the flow the message and the word choices were beautiful.. This poem helped me to remember that just because you realize something is wrong it doesnt do any good unless you do something about it. Wow I really loved this poem soo much! nice work!
