Mind games

by Melissa   Jan 24, 2006

I never wanted anything irrational
until your jewels tickled my tongue
and I lost all of my abilities to defend.
Paralyzed by your spell, I stood helplessly
and watched you play your very best moves.
Your love became a wild mind game
and my wits weren't sharp enough to play.
My most articulate move was to stand still
and watch you take every single bit of me,
even the piece I had secretly tucked away.
Your breaking me down and I don't know
how much more of this I can take,
but I'd still be inclined to be yours for the taking
despite the steel frost you keep throwing my way.
