Declaration of indepentant speech

by sameeha abdulnasir   Jan 25, 2006

Standing stripped of all pretension,
proudly I'm prepared to state;
I confirm what this convention
found to be our forgone fate.

We declare our dissolution
from old England and her King,
with this righteous resolution
bells of freedom's beauty ring.

Independent declaration
is our gift to countrymen,
who salute this separation
ready now to fight again.

We are united in our cause,
independent nation free.
Loyal to each separate clause,
representing liberty.

Our soldiers now are in harm's way,
England's Navy harbor bound.
Our boys are fit to fight the fray
for this freedom they have found.

George Washington will be our lead
to a gallant victory.
And reinforcements we will seed
to secure our history.

We'll fight them from the woods and trees,
British troops will soon retreat.
Their army brought down to its knees
as they suffer in defeat.

To all of you most honored men
this is what I pledge today;
from mountain peaks to valley glen,
freedom's flag unfurled to stay.
