Late at night
When the world lacks light
I lay awake,
Breathing hard
Gasping for air
Asking why
Why me
Why him
Why does the light in my heart
Grow so dim
Why
On this stormy autumn night
Did I have to remember
The day he died
The time I couldn't cry
With grief beyond tears
He didn't deserve to die
His family doesn't deserve to cry.
And when I awake form my nightmares
I ask why.
